The Herald Restaurant Critic Rates Seaview Cafe and McCaskie’s Pies

After hearing recently that the Herald Restaurant Critic Ron Mackenna had been doing a review of the Seaview Cafe to say I was bloody nervous is an understatement!

I read the Herald every week and always read with interest the good and the bad of restaurants Ron visits never thinking one day he’ll call at our door.

Helen was out the door and along to the paper shop before 6 to get a Herald and presented it to me still in bed with a slight smile. That was good enough for me to read on. Ron was in on Bank Holiday Monday and he had a McCaskie’s Steak Pie and McCaskie’s Scotch Pie and loved both although he would have preferred the pie in a dish lidded like we sell in the butchers.

I would say it was very positive on the whole. Now breathe Nigel!
