About Us

Located on Scotland’s beautiful Clyde coast, Wemyss Bay is the home of McCaskie’s. Quality butchers and the purveyors of the very finest Scotch beef, Scotch lamb and Specially Selected Scotch pork since 1935.

The business now in its 3rd generation of family ownership run by Nigel Ovens, his wife Helen (a farmer’s daughter) under the watchful eye of Nigel’s mum, Elizabeth (the founder’s daughter). Over the years the business has grown and in February 2018, the family and team welcomed HRH, the Princess Royal to open the state of the art production facility directly behind the shop.

One thing that has not changed since 1935 is the family’s commitment to source the very best quality livestock and make the best possible meat products. Over the years the business has won a number of top accolades for the products produced in Wemyss Bay.

Their award winning products include: Steak Pies, Sausages, Dry Cure Bacon, Burgers and have won the top title of Scottish Champion for both Haggis and Black Pudding. The business acquired the busy café next door and with their team of chefs are producing an increasing range of ready meals.
