McCaskie’s is a third-generation family butcher and café, proudly based in Wemyss Bay on Scotland’s west coast. We’ve been crafting award-winning products from the same spot since 1935, with everything made onsite in our Food Standards Scotland-approved production facility.

Run by Nigel Ovens, his wife Helen (a farmer’s daughter), and his mother Elizabeth (daughter of founder Mearns T. McCaskie), our focus remains the same: quality meat, expertly prepared.

What Makes Us Different?

    We only use Scotch beef, lamb and pork – all grass-fed, naturally reared and sourced from trusted farms with high welfare standards. Our beef comes from native and heritage breeds, prized for marbling and flavour.

    All butchery and production is done on site by our skilled team, led by Nigel. Everything is hand-cut, freshly packed and delivered chilled – never frozen.
