McCaskie’s Cafe

As you all know we have had a difficult time (like many in hospitality) recruiting chefs. We were using agency chefs but that too proved unreliable. A very difficult decision was nearly made but we have taken a slightly different approach. We have gone old school with our menu. We have made some exciting changes and it’s now a smaller, tasty cafe-style menu at great value prices.

We have a redone our takeaway menu too with a great selection at great prices. As we are working with a nice tight team we sadly have to CLOSE ON SUNDAYS over the winter months.

We now offer new soup and sandwiches combos, our lasagnes, fajita wraps, and burgers. With mains from £6.95 to £8.95. And the new menu has gone down very well.

McCaskie’s Christmas

We have had many emails asking about availability and when can orders be placed. Now this is when local businesses with strong loyal suppliers come in to their own. We have got our turkeys ordered with the Copas family and we did increase our order a wee bit but have less ordered than previous years to improve service.

We DO NOT buy mass produced turkeys or imported breast joints. This is where there might be issues but that does not concern us.

Our relationship is so good with the Copas family that our price increases are negligible if at all from last year.

We make all our own festive products and can make more or less as required.

When can customers place Christmas orders?

We are building a new website and hope it will go live over the next 2-3 weeks so November will be the ordering month.

Will we be busier than normal with more queues?

After last year when waiting time was greater than we would have liked, we really looked at things. We have invested in the technologies for our website and ordering system to book a slot.

Collections will be limited to 25 per hour and will be from our factory door keeping the shop clear for normal shopping.

Can customers get their Christmas order delivered?

If you receive normal weekly deliveries then there will no be change. For festive deliveries only we are planning to charge £5 but we will put in a £5 voucher to use in January in too.

So please don’t panic about Christmas at McCaskie’s.
