McCaskie’s Haggis is People’s Choice Champion

McCaskie’s Haggis was voted ‘People’s Choice Champion’ for the second year in a row on Sunday at the annual Haggisfest competition as part of Oban’s Winterfest.

As winner of the award Nigel Ovens was present at the ceremony to receive his second People’s Choice award and a beautifully carved wooden haggis.

The People’s Choice competition was entered by 16 of Scotland’s top butchers and consumers were asked to taste all the Haggis and vote for their favourite.

This means that McCaskie’s Haggis has been voted Champion in 4 out of 5 of the main Haggis competitions in 2015 and 2016.

The big one is next June when we defend our National Title…fingers crossed for that!

We are looking forward to being able to expand production in 2017 thanks to our new Small Batch Production Unit behind the shop, which is due to be up and running in two weeks time.
