McCaskie Butchers has won the Butcher’s Plus Award

McCaskie Butchers has won the Butcher’s Plus Award at the prestigious 2013 Butchers Shop of the Year awards recently held in London.

This award recognises businesses that are more than a traditional butchers’ shop.

Well known as a quality butcher, that supplies the very best in Scottish Beef, Lamb and Pork, McCaskie is also famous for their Black Pudding, Haggis Olives and the delights on offer at their busy Deli.

Husband and wife team Nigel and Helen extended their shop to create the Seaview Cafe next door and the judges said they turned the cafe, which has an outdoor decked eating area that overlooks the sea at Wemyss Bay, into a “thriving business”.

“We’re just a small family business that aims to be the best,” Nigel said. “We’ve invested heavily to turn it into something special and we have a great team of chefs and staff in the cafe that are working hard to put it on the map, for the cafe as well as the butchers.”
