McCaskie Butcher Scoops Triple Gold in National Savoury Pastry Awards 2017

Great news to start 2017… McCaskies’ have won three prestigious Gold Awards at the Scottish Craft Butcher Savoury Pastry Awards, announced on Hogmanay.

McCaskie’s won Gold for our Shell Pies, Gold for our Steak Pies and also Gold for our Steak and Black Pudding Pies (in the Speciality Steak Pie category). McCaskie’s also won a silver for our Steak and Haggis Pie and a Silver for our Chicken Lasagne Pie.

The awards were entered by all the leading butchers in Scotland so the standards were therefore extremely high. Only 6 Golds were awarded nationally for Specialty Steak Pies and 7 Golds for Steak Pies.

Overall McCaskie’s was the most awarded butcher in the West of Scotland for our savoury pastry products and the only butcher in Scotland to win straight golds in all three steak pie and shell pie categories.

We’ve done well in the past with big pies but this was fantastic for us to get such recognition for our small pies.
