Ardgowan Hospice Fundraiser Wine Night

Oh what a night! These were the words uttered by many of the guests who attended the McCaskie Butcher Wine Tasting Night at the Seaview Bistro.

For the wine enthusiasts there were 55 different wines to try from fruity reds, sparkling and still whites and a selection of rosé wines.

Nigel and Helen Ovens, our hosts for the night, were impressed with the turnout to support this fundraiser for Ardgowan Hospice. Nigel said “The people in this area are very loyal to Ardgowan Hospice and will turn out to help at occassions such as this. The Hospice and its staff work hard continuously at raising funds and hopefully in our own small way we have managed to help them tonight”. The amount raised on the night was £500.

The staff of the Seaview Bistro were busy well before the 6:00pm start time, preparing the food and organising what can only be described as top service from Fabrizio, the head chef and his team and the very attentive waiting staff.

The food served was flowing as fast as the wine, from haggis and black pudding balls, chicken legs, fish and chips, scotch pies, plus many other delicious items all prepared to McCaskie Butcher’s award winning standards.

The wine suppliers on the night were Ian from Wine Importers, Giles from Yealands, Ruth from Marques de Riscal, Kevin from Alliance,Chris from Corney & Barrow, Donald from Enotria and Sharon from Cottage Delight.

If you would like to attend in the future, please sign up to McCaskie’s Food and Wine Club evenings and all the information will come direct to your inbox.
