Description
Our McCaskie haggis has been created with passion and dedication by Nigel Ovens (owner) over 20 years. The hard work paid off when in 2015 McCaskie's won 2015/16 West Of Scotland Champion and then National Champion at the Craft Butchers Haggis Competition. Since then our haggis has won two Golden Haggis awards and 5 Peoples Choice awards at the Haggis Festival in Oban over the last 6 years. 2017/18 West Of Scotland Champion and 2019/20 West of Scotland Champion and Reserve Champion. In 2025 we won big winning the title of World Haggis Champions.
Our haggis is rich and creamy and offers the perfect balance between offal and spice.
Cooking Tips
Hob: Remove outer packaging, wrap haggis in foil and place in saucepan of boiling water. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Oven: Split case from end to end and open loosely. Place a small amount of butter on top of the exposed haggis. Wrap in foil and place in a pre heated oven for 45minutes at 160C/GM 3. Microwave: Remove haggis completely from its skin and place in a microwavable bowl. Add a small amount of butter and cover with cling film. Heat on full power for 3 minutes. Remove cling film carefully, stir, recover and heat for a further 1-2 minutes. Allow to stand for 2 minutes before serving.
