After 2 years since building our new modern production facility we’ve been working hard to achieve Safe and Local Supplier Approval (SALSA) which is the highest standard of hygiene, traceability and good practice for small to medium food businesses.
Kirsty (a local lass and microbiology graduate) and our new Operations Manager spent 3 months training, putting systems of traceability and condensing all my paper work.
In short, we are of the standard that all the major supermarkets require of their suppliers/potential suppliers.
We did it!
Well done to the whole team for their massive massive efforts to get us to this level.
So now our customers can have the extra confidence that all McCaskie Butchers’ sausages, burgers and kebabs are produced in a SALSA approved facility.
