McCaskie Butchers got the next best thing to the Royal warrant of appointment when HRH The Princess Royal visited the shop yesterday to open our new butchery and production facility.
There’s been a tangible buzz from our customers in the shop, in Wemyss Bay and online with congratulations, good wishes and comments flying in on the McCaskie Butchers Facebook page.
HRH The Princess Royal, who is President of the Scottish Beef Club, was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Renfrewshire (Mr. Guy Clark) and was met and shown round the McCaskie Butchers shop and new facility by owners Nigel and Helen Ovens together with Nigel’s mother, Elizabeth.
McCaskie Butchers, which was established in 1935, have been using the new state-of-the-art butchery and production facility for a few weeks now and was developed to help improve production efficiencies and raise the already high quality of service McCaskie’s provides to customers throughout the UK.
Nigel said “It was an amazing day. HRH The Princess Royal was so interested in everyone she met and she spoke and chatted to every member of staff. We had our farmers, suppliers and the new facility’s builders here today too who all enjoyed a special lunch to mark the occasion. It was a great boost for the Butchers and Scotch meat industry. Also, mum was so happy.”
